The screen would give the depth and perception of a bunch of stacked wood but really it would be just a few inches thick and somewhat easy to pop in and out.
The goal here was to build a faux log stack facade that you can remove when you are ready to use the actual fireplace and replace the next day once the fireplace was cool again.
So you really need a fireplace screen to make the focal point beautiful even in summer when you don t have a roaring fire going.

Take four rods and weld them together at right angles to create a square or rectangular frame.
Just remember to measure the opening of your fireplace first and take a tape measure with you on your search.
